Russia, Germany donate two helicopters to Kabul drug police
KABUL. August 12. KAZINFORM Russia and Germany delivered on Tuesday two medical rescue helicopters to Afghanistan's Interior Ministry for the country's narcotics police, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
According to agreements, the Mi-8 MTV and Mi-17 1B Hip helicopters are to be used exclusively within the country and for civilian purposes only. The helicopters are equipped with emergency medical equipment.
"I am sure that these effective and reliable machines in the hands of experienced Afghan pilots will show themselves in the best light and will help in reducing losses to Afghanistan's Internal Ministry personnel who are fighting a war with terrorism and drug crimes," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin said in Kabul during the presentation ceremony, Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
