"Russian and Chinese agencies concerned have been holding regular consultations for several months over an inter-governmental agreement on energy co-operation, including gas supplies on ‘the eastern route'. I hope that the countries will sign the document at a 19th regular meeting of prime ministers in Moscow on October 13," he said. Russian energy giant Gazprom and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have inked a contract for gas delivery to China on ‘the eastern route' for next 30 years on May 21. The contract costs a total 400 billion dollars. ‘The eastern route' implies delivery of 38 billion cubic metres of Russian gas to China along the trunk gas pipeline Power of Siberia.
