Russia and Kazakhstan to agree on Air Defense single system
ASTANA. October 9. KAZINFORM "Russia and Kazakhstan are planning to agree on establishment of a single system of Air Defense of the two countries till the end 2012," Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said at the meeting with his Kazakh colleague Adilbek Dzahksybekov.
According to him, till the end of 2012 it is planned to finish interstate procedures of adjusting a draft agreement and to prepare it for signing. The ministers agreed to start consultations on adding missile potential to a unified regional air defense system.
Also, the defense ministers discussed prospects of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan.
The issues related to the strengthening of military and military-technical cooperation within the CSTO, including the creation of the CSTO Military Committee and the improvement of the procurement of arms and military technology to countries - members of the organization were discussed at the meeting.
Besides, the sides discussed the way of realization of the Strategic and Cooperation Partnership Plan signed in March 2011.
