Rumas appointed head of commission for Customs Union, SES
MINSK. June 25. KAZINFORM Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Rumas was appointed head of the commission for the issues of the functioning of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. This decision is laid down in Resolution No. 514 by the Council of Ministers dated 21 June 2013, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian government.
This decision amends the membership of this commission. It includes about 30 executives and representatives of the ministries, concerns, committees, and the Office of the Council of Ministers. The resolution provides for two sub-commissions: for the issues of the functioning of the Customs Union and the issues of the functioning of the Single Economic Space. The sub-commission for the Customs Union is headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Mikhnevich, the one for the Single Economic Space by Deputy Economy Minister Anton Kudasov.
The commission for the issues of the functioning of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space was established in Belarus in 2010. It is a coordination body ensuring concerted actions of state administration bodies of the Republic Belarus in customs-tariff regulation, the use of special protective, antidumping, countervailing and response measures, and non-tariff regulation. The commission supervises the matters of technical regulation, the application of sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures, establishment of trade regimes with third countries, taxation, and customs duties. It also coordinates the issues related to the freedom of movement of services, capital, workforce, BelTA reports.
