Road map on broadband Internet development to be worked out in Kazakhstan

ASTANA. February 22. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ The Kazakh Ministry of Communications and Information is working out a road map on broadband Internet development in Kazakhstan. Head of the Ministry Askar Zhumagaliyev has made it public today after the session of the Government.
"The broadband Internet should be at a level set by the most developed countries. The Ministry works on a road map providing increase in Internet speed and introduction of new technologies such as 4G, Wi-Max, etc," A.Zhumagaliyev said.
The Minister noted that the Internet speed in Kazakhstan made 1 megabit. According to him, it will be increased twofold as minimum this year. He also emphasized that the price for Internet service would remain at the same level.
