Road Map of parliamentary diplomacy discussed in Kazakh Foreign Ministry

ASTANA. February 13. KAZINFORM Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerlan Idrissov took part in a meeting on coordination of the Road Map of parliamentary diplomacy development for 2013-2015, Kazinform refers to the press service of the authority.

Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security of the Senate Ikram Adyrbekov, his counterpart in the Majilis Maulen Ashimbayev, Senator Mukhtar Altynbayev, majilismen, deputy Prosecutor General Andrey Kravchenko and other representatives of the ministry attended the meeting.

Issues of parliamentary diplomacy development, coordination of interrelations between the Kazakh Parliament and Ministry of Foreign Affairs were discussed during the meeting.

In the Strategy "Kazakhstan-2050" Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the increased authority of Kazakhstan in the international arena, and that new global challenges required the modernization of Kazakhstan's foreign policy and the use of modern forms of diplomacy.

Taking into account the experience of foreign countries in which legislators are increasingly involved in the implementation of foreign policy, the Kazakh members of parliament and diplomats gathered to strengthen the coordination and discussion of the draft Road Map on parliamentary diplomacy.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to pursue efforts to develop a coherent foreign policy, and to enhance cooperation with the parliaments of other countries.
