RK Ambassador met PM and Senior Minister of Singapore

ASTANA. May 19. KAZINFORM Yesterday Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Singapore Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev held meetings with Prime Minister of this country Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong within participation in opening of the Parliament?s special session, the press service of the Kazakh MFA informs.

The Head of the Government of Singapore expressed interest in the economic development of Kazakhstan amid the global financial crisis. The Kazakh Diplomat acquainted him with the measures launched by our Government on stabilization of the national economy. Lee Hsien Loong noted that usage of the National Fund?s money had become a mitigating factor for the country?s economy. According to him, forecast of 1% GDP increase in Kazakhstan was not a bad result, taking into consideration that many countries expected reduction of this index. Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, ex-Prime Minister of Singapore, highlighted importance of maintaining the contacts on the highest level and noted fruitful visits of President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to Singapore and First Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew to Kazakhstan.
