Results of state visits to Austria and Czech Republic give impetus to our economic relations - Nazarbayev

 ASTANA. October 24. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev held a briefing for Kazakhstan's media on the results of his official visit to Austria and the Czech Republic, the President's press service said.

The President noted that the results achieved during his visits to Austria and the Czech Republic would give impetus to the economic relations with these countries.

"Despite the negative impact of the global crisis, Austria and the Czech Republic maintained economic stability and sustainability. For Kazakhstan it is important and necessary to develop cooperation with European countries. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with EU countries is USD 50 billion. Our economies are complementary, and within the program of forced industrial-innovative development we are interested in high technology in agriculture and processing industries. Also, it is important to attract investment and exchange experience in the development of small and medium businesses," said the President of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that during the meeting with the leadership of the two countries they signed important bilateral documents. The countries held business forums in which representatives of major European businesses have expressed interest in working with our country. In addition, Kazakhstan is interested in the support of Austria and the Czech Republic in expanding partnerships with other European states.

"It is necessary to establish more joint ventures allowing to create new jobs and train highly qualified personnel. This is beneficial both for Kazakhstan and the European partners," the Kazakh leader emphasized.

The Head of State noted that the leadership of Austria and the Czech Republic recognized the achievements of our country in various sectors of the economy and affirmed the importance of cooperation with Kazakhstan.
