Restriction on difference between bid and offer rates of currency to be established: Marchenko

G.Marchenko told about probable influence of the changed rate of the tenge on a balance of payments, inflation, lending and deposit market. ?Kazakhstan provided stability of the national currency longer than other states. But further support of the tenge at the previous rate made no economic sense, when neighbor states and our main trade partners conduct the national currency devaluation. Kazakhstan has an opportunity to take into account different scenarios of devaluation in other countries and to choose an optimal way?, the Chairman of the Bank said. According to him, further support of the tenge rate would lead to exhaustion of gold and foreign currency reserves. Today?s tenge rate corresponds to a medium-term point of the National Bank and will not be up for review in the nearest time. ?We consider legal aspects and, probably, regulatory restriction on difference between bid and offer rates of foreign currency in the exchange bureaus will be established. The National Bank will impose sanctions to withdrawal of a license from exchange bureaus in the currency offence?, G.Marchenko said.
