Republican Health Festival kicks off September 12

The aim of the event is to promote the healthy lifestyle among Kazakhstan population. This day all the residents will gather at the stadiums, squares, sports grounds of the country for mass bicycling, skateboarding and other kinds of sports activities.

Director General of the National Center of Formation of Healthy Lifestyle Saule Dikanbayeva says the main idea of the festival is to unite the efforts of public and nongovernmental organizations, sportsmen, people of culture and educations and the entire population in the cause of promotion of healthy life style in the republic. "In the whole world people tend to strive for rational meals and active life style. Our health depends on how healthy live we lead" , she said.

The first Health Festival took place in 1999 and was timed to the adoption of the Kazakhstan 2030 program, Aykan Akanov, Director of the Association of Specialists of promotion of healthy lifestyle said.  He added, Kazakhstan is the only CIS country where the problems of healthy life style go among strategic issues of the state policy.

The campaign is conducted under support of the Presidential Administration, ministers, region akimats and the administrations of Almaty and Astana.
