Renowned Swedish ski official Hedstrom dies of heart attack in Russia

MOSCOW. August 12. KAZINFORM A world renowned Swedish ski official helping in the organization of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi died of a heart attack in the Black Sea resort city, Sochi.live website reported on Thursday. Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

Jan Erik Hedstrom was a technical expert for the International Ski Federation and was working with the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. He spent most of his career as a ski instructor and coach, as well as officiating World Cups and World Champions.

"Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee is deeply saddened that, after a life of tremendous contributions to skiing, Jan Erik Hedstrom passed away after suffering a heart attack early this morning," the Sochi.live website read.
