Renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan are still more expensive than traditional - KAZENERGY
ASTANA. April 19. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan has great potential for renewable energy sources, but they are still more expensive than traditional ones.
This was stated by Director General of the Astana Kazakhstan Association of Oil-Gas and Energy Sector «KAZENERGY» Asset Magauov.
"Kazakhstan has great potential for renewable energy, particularly wind energy, but they are still more expensive than conventional, and their implementation will fall on the shoulders of consumers. In this regard, we see the development of renewable energy in the mechanisms of government incentives ", A.Magauov announced the data at the meeting of the coordinating council of «KAZENERGY» in Astana.
According to him, the actual potential for energy savings in the cpountry is significant, about 20-30%. "At the same unit of energy obtained through the construction of new facilities requires 6-8 times more capital investment than by increasing energy efficiency. Regulatory technical grid losses of KEGOC are within 6-7%, which is the optimal level in Kazakhstan ", added A.Magauov.
As the general director of «KAZENERGY» says, the situation with regional energy companies, distributors requires the state program of modernization and establishment stringent requirements to their owners in terms of reducing technical losses to the regulations.
"On the basis of our findings the measureswere have been proposed to amend the legislation of Kazakhstan, in particular, to the tax, environmental codes, Law "On Subsoil ", said the head of the energy company.
