Religious dialogue less effective without poliicy: K.Tokayev

ASTANA. April 7. KAZINFORM Head of the Kazakh delegation Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, paying working visit to Istanbul, took part in the II Plenary session of the second Forum of the Alliance of Civilizations, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Senate.
The session was devoted to the extension of dialogue and strengthening of cooperation through association of innovative policy and initiatives of states.
The Speaker of the Kazakh Senate stressed the importance of intercultural and interfaith dialogue in combating the global challenges of our time. ?We are to hold a congress of religious leaders in Kazakhstan and we invite politicians to the upcoming forum in Astana, as long as the religious dialogue will be less effective without policy?, K.Tokayev said.
The Head of the Kazakh delegation noted that the successful experience of Kazakhstan in co-existence of multiple religions, ethnic and social groups on the basis of tolerance and mutual understanding affirms the possibility and necessity of rapprochement of different world cultures and religions.
