Rector of Eurasian National University holds number of meetings in Jordan

On the initiative of the Kazakh Embassy in Amman the rector started his working visit to Jordan January 3. The visit programme envisages the meetings with Chairman of the Senate of Jordan Taher Al-Masri, deputies of the Senate as well as heads and teaching staff of the leading Jordanian universities.

In the course of the meeting with the Senate Chairman the sides focused on development of relations between the Eurasian National University and the Jordanian Universities. There were emphasized the issues concerning exchange of students, candidates for a master's degree and organization of internships for scientific employees. Taher Al-Masri noted Kazakhstan's authority on the international arena. In September, 2010 Taher Al-Masri paid a visit to Kazakhstan, where he gave a lecture to the students of the Eurasian National University and was given a title of an Honorary Doctor of the University. The parties discussed the issue on arranging a forum of rectors of universities of Jordan on the basis of the Eurasian National University For strengthening bilateral friendly relations.

Within the meeting with President of the Jordan University of Science and Technology Wajih Mousa Owais they touched upon a number of issues on training of specialists in the spheres of nuclear technologies, water resources management system as well as engineering, biotechnologies, information systems management and programming. The sides agreed to sign a memorandum of mutual understanding, and the Jordan University of Science and Technology will welcome a group of the Kazakh candidates for a master's degree for interning in the nearest future.

In the course of the meeting with the Academic Council and President of University of Petra Adnan Badran there was noted rapid growth of Kazakhstan on the political arena and industrial-innovative course of Kazakhstan's economy. Besides, A.Badran highly appraised the pace of development of the Kazakh science and emphasized progressive course of the Eurasian National University. Following the results of the meeting the gathered signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Within the meeting with President of Amman Arab University Saeed El-Tell and member of the University Council Kayed Abdulhaq the issues of further development of bilateral relations were discussed. In particular, the parties agreed to open a Center of the Kazakh Culture and Language on the basis of the Amman Arab University next year.

On behalf of Senate Chairman Taher Al-Masri there was held an official dinner. Senators noted high achievements of Kazakhstan in the field of interethnic concord, course of modernization of economy, science and education of the country as well as a significant role of Kazakhstan in the field of international integration processes.
