Rains and thunderstorms set to batter Kazakhstan on May 14

Front effects are to linger behind Thursday’s unstable weather conditions across much of Kazakhstan, resulting in rains and thunderstorms. Precipitation as rain and snow is expected in the north, east, as well as mountain areas of the southeast during night hours, Qazinform News Agency reports.

According to the National Weather Service Kazhydromet, persistent dry conditions are forecast to continue in southern regions. Strong wind, shipping up dust tides in the south, are predicted to sweep across the country.

Temperatures near or below zero degrees Celsius are set to grip the north, east of Akmola, Pavlodar, Karaganda, East Kazakhstan, east of North Kazakhstan, west of Abai, mountain areas of Zhetysu regions at night.

Forecasters predict high fire danger in Ulytau, west, north, south of Karaganda, west of Almaty, west of Zhambyl, west, north of Turkistan, north, center of Kyzylorda, south of Aktobe, northeast of Mangistau, southeast of Akmola, west, east, south of Pavlodar, east of Abai, center of East Kazakhstan regions.

The south, east of Kyzylorda, southeast of Aktobe, southeast of Zhetysu regions are to brace for extreme fire danger.

Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakhstan is to see frosts and heat up to 35°C in the next three days.
