Rain, thunderstorms and extreme heat forecast in Kazakhstan Aug 23
Atmospheric frontal systems will maintain unstable weather across much of Kazakhstan, bringing rain, thunderstorms, hail and squalling winds, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing Kazhydromet.
Heavy rainfall is expected in the northwest, north, central regions and mountainous areas of the southeast.
Dry conditions will prevail in the west, southwest and east. Strong winds are forecast nationwide, with dust storms in the south and foggy conditions in the northern, eastern and central areas.
Daytime temperatures will rise sharply, with +35°C in West Kazakhstan region, +35+38°C in Atyrau region, and +38+42°C in Mangystau region.
Authorities warn of high fire danger in Kostanay region, south of Akmola region, northwest of West Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions, center of Aktobe region, east of Zhambyl, Pavlodar, Almaty regions, as well as west of Abai region.
An extreme fire hazard is forecast in Kyzylorda, Turkistan, Zhambyl, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Almaty, Zhetysu, Ulytau regions, in the south and southeast of Kostanay region, west and north of Mangystau region, west, south, east and center of Karaganda region, west of Akmola region, south of East Kazakhstan region and Abai region.
