'Radonezh' Russian community celebrated its 20 years in Zhambyl rgn
TARAZ. October 22. KAZINFORM - The Russian community named "Radonezh" in Zhambyl region has celebrated its 20 years' anniversary of creation in Taraz, in the city cinema hall with the concert held with participation of Zhambyl region talents.
Congratulating the activists of the public association called "Radonezh" with the 20th anniversary the President of the Assembly of Zhambyl region, the regional head Kanat Bozumbayev said that 20 years had been a short period of time, but much had been done in that time by the public association. "Activists of "Radonezh" spend a lot of work to implement the strategy of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, they actively participate in all activities", said K. Bozumbayev. Every year "Radonezh" gathers a huge number of people during the Days of Slavic Writing and Culture, Easter festivals, Christmas parties and Pancake Weeks. All these measures are aimed at careful preservation of the customs and traditions of the Russian people. The work with young people of different nationalities has promoted educational programs, actively supported children's dance ensemble named "Pinocchio". Within the ethno-cultural association there have been founded a folklore-ethnographic ensemble, an orchestra of Russian folk instruments, said akim of the area.
"Inter-ethnic peace and social harmony, about which always says the nation's leader Nursultan Nazarbayev, do not happen by themselves", said K. Bozumbayev. "This is a casual and hard work of all ethnic and cultural associations, strengthening civil society and inter-ethnic harmony".
According to Svetlana Chautina, "Radonezh" Russian community has a membership of about seven hundred members. "The aim of our work is to protect the rights of the Russian-speaking population, the preservation of cultural and educational traditions of the Russian people, the support of Orthodoxy, strengthening ties with their historical homeland", said the head of the organization.
