Public consent to be maintained by law-enforcement agencies: Tazhin

ASTANA. March 29. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan's Secretary of State Marat Tazhin believes the law-enforcement agencies of the country are responsible for maintaining public consent.

He made the statement at a republican session dedicated to the problem of inter-ethnic relations in the Akorda presidential residence on Friday.

The Secretary of State noted that public consent should be based on mutual trust and unity of purpose of the state and its citizens.

The session brought together heads of ministries and agencies, departments of the Presidential Administration, deputy governors of the regions and deputy mayors of Astana and Almaty cities and many others. The meeting focused on the new "Kazakhstan-2050" Development Strategy, especially on the problems in the sphere of inter-ethnic relations.

Following the results of the session, Mr. Tazhin gave specific instructions to government bodies to step up political planning in the field of ethnopolitics, and effective interaction between government bodies and civil society institutes aimed at consolidating public consent.
