Prospects of regional economic cooperation discussed in Urumqi

The Government of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) organized the forum. The head of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, SCO Secretary General, head of XUAR Government, representatives of Kazakhstan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan took part in the event.

The main purpose of the forum was to discuss further prospects of the regional economic cooperation, the issues of investment attraction as well as implementation of joint investment projects.

Managing Director of JSC "Corporation for Export Development and Promotion KAZNEX" Rustam Abdusalamov represented the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade. In his speech he noted: "Under the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan the program on industrial development of the country is being developed at present one of the main objective of which is to attract investments into the priority sectors of economy. In this regard the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Trade jointly with JSC "Corporation for Export Development and Promotion KAZNEX" is activating the work with foreign investors which will be proposed developed investment projects for cooperation".
