Prominent political figure of Kazakhstan Ural Mukhamedzhanov passes away

It was announced at the plenary session of Majilis (lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament) by Vice Majilis Speaker Sergey Dyachenko.

"It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of eminent political figure and politician of the Republic of Kazakhstan, chairman of Majilis of the Kazakh Parliament of the 3^rd and 4^th convocation Mr. Ural Mukhamedzhanov," Mr. Dyachenko told the session on Wednesday.

Current Majilis Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin cut short his official visit to China to return to Kazakhstan.

MPs observed a minute of silence in tribute to the memory of Ural Mukhamedzhanov during the Wednesday session.
