Project on meat export potential development supported by President: U.Shukeyev

ASTANA. January 19. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev backed the project on cattle meet export development, elaborated by "KazAgro" Holding. First Deputy Prime Minister Umirzak Shukeyev made it public at the session of the Government.

The project covers almost all regions of Kazakhstan and provides establishment of 2.5 thousand farms where 25-30 thousand people will be employed.

According to U.Shukeyev, the relevance of the project is conditioned by Kazakhstan's accession to the Customs Union. "As you all know, Russia imports about 1.7 mln tons of meat. The major part of it comes from Brazil and South-American countries. We have an opportunity to enter this market", the First Deputy Premier said.

According to the data of KazAgro Holding, the project provides establishment of 60 feeding platforms, 54 multiplying farms ad about 2.5 thousand farms, etc. in the nearest five years. The financing of the projects in five years will total KZT 148 bln. It will be financed from the national budget and KazAgro Holding's funds.
