Progress M-03M space vehicle launched from Baikonur

KONUR.  October 15. KAZINFORM  /Sara Kabikyzy/ The Soyuz-U space mission rocket with the Progress automatic cargo vehicle on board was successfully launched from Baikonur spaceport at 7:14 am, Astana time today.

The launch was pervformed in a normal mode; the separating parts of the rocket fell in western areas and the space vehicle was put into orbit.

Progress M-03M will deliver over 2.5 tons of cargo to the ISS - fuel components, scientific equipment, air, water and foods for the Russian and American astronauts working at the station.

Docking of the cargo vehicle is scheduled for Oct 18.

The next space vehicle will be launched November 2009. According to the press service of Energy Russian Space Corporation this will be a specialized cargo spacecraft/module Progress M-MIM2 which will deliver small research module MIM2 to the ISS.
