Prime Minister visited Atyrau Thermal Power Plant
ATYRAU. June 18. KAZINFORM /Andrei Sokolov/ - Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov was familiarized with the process of realization of a project on increase in capacity of the thermal power plant within his visit to Atyrau region.
The project includes construction of three turbines 25 megawatts each and two boiler units with the capacity of 220 tons of steam per hour.
The first of new turbines was put into service by President Nursultan Nazarbayev last year. The Prime Minister was informed that the turbine had already been included into the general energy system and generated about 23 megawatts of electric power. One of new boilers was launched as well.
President of the Thermal Power Plant Muhambetkali Kaliyev said the works were run in accordance with schedule. The launch of the second turbine is planned on mid June of this year. The third turbine is assembled now and its launch scheduled for the end of the year.
When all required works are finished at the plant the volume of generated electric power will reach 75 megawatts. It will be enough for both to provide the region's requirements and for selling it to neighboring regions of Russia.
