Prime Minister Akhmetov inspects Astana waste water treatment plant
ASTANA. October 13. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Akhmetov inspected the work of a waste water treatment plant of "Astana Su Arnasy" enterprise.
Head of the municipal enterprise "Astana Su Arnasy" Valikhan Dosaev said the station was reconstructed, which resulted in increased efficiency of its work.
"The plant's capacity is 136 thousand cubic meters per day. After the reconstruction, which included replacement of pumps, the plant consumes less energy - previously 16 thousand kilowatt per hour, now 13 thousand kilowatt per hour," he said.
In addition, representatives of the capital's public utilities briefed the Head of Government on the implementation of the project "Elimination of the wastewater storage lake Taldykol." The total project cost is USD 61.8 billion. All work will be completed by 2015. As a result, the quality of the treated waste water will be brought to the standards for household purposes. As the press-service of akimat said, the project will ensure the completion of the Yessil River through water recycling, and reduction of the lake from the existing two hectares to its natural size - 400 ha.
