Prices for electric energy in Kazakhstan likely to rise
ANA. September 2. KAZINFORM. /Gulnara Zhandagulova/ Kazakhstan will consume electric energy in the volume it did before the crisis not earlier than 2011. Director of GPMI Central Asia LLC Asset Nauryzbayev has made it public at a press conference timed to the seminar of chief engineers and top managers of Kazakhstan's power stations on Wednesday.
"The power consumption dropped because of the crisis. "The return to the previous volumes of consumption will not be fast", Mr. Nauryzbayev said.
According to him, next year Kazakhstan's economy will be in an active phase and need new energy. "Construction of the second branch of "North - South" power transmission line will play a stabilizing role in uniform provision of the state with electric energy. However, the disposal of existing capacities, low efficiency of old equipment and weak production output will cause jump in prices for electric energy", he resumed.
