Presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine and Belarus are meeting in Astana
ASTANA. May 29. KAZINFORM "Presidents of five countries are having a meeting in Astana," spokesman of the Central Communications Service of the President of Kazakhstan Altai Abibullayev announces.
The meeting is held on May 29 within the session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of states to discuss further integration.
"At the invitation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych are also visiting Astana on May 29. On the same day a meeting of the five heads of state will be conducted," A.Abibullaev informed.
It should be noted that the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine do not participate in the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
"However, as you know, Kyrgyzstan submitted a formal application to join the Customs Union. Ukraine applied for observer status in the Customs Union, so the issues of integration and interaction of these countries with the members of the Customs Union will be discussed in the course of their stay in Astana on May 29, " Abibullaev concluded .
