Presidents of Kazakh universities come under fire for lack of interest in science

ASTANA. August 22. KAZINFORM Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Zhumagulov has harshly criticized the work of presidents of country's universities.

"They [presidents] are not driven to pursue science. As a result, they estrange themselves from scientific and research institutes. This is an open secret," said Minister Zhumagulov at the ministry's meeting.

Vice Minister of Education and Science Murat Orynkhanov, in his turn, noted the presidents of higher education institutions fail to conduct practical policy in academic staff training.
