Presidential elections in Kazakhstan were flawless - Swiss delegation

ASTANA. April 4. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The international observers' delegation from Switzerland that took part in monitoring the presidential elections in Kazakhstan noted that the elections were held flawlessly.

The members of the delegation said it at the press briefing in Astana.

"I did not see any violations, everything was fair, perfect and flawless. There were no deviations from the Law. While talking with the voters we saw that many of them were aware of the election campaigns of all candidates. There was no criticism," Director of the Swiss Institute for Democracy and Communication Peter Staub said.

As he noted, he was impressed with the fact that the people of Kazakhstan willingly went to the voting stations and voted for their candidate. "In Switzerland, we more willingly vote for the amendments to the Constitution, but the voter turnout is not so high," P. Staub noted.
