Presidential Address instills confidence in the future - foreign experts

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The recent State-of-the-Nation Address "Nurly zhol - Path to the Future" delivered by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has generated intense public interest among foreign experts.

Prominent statesmen, politicians and businessmen praise Kazakhstan's efforts and achievements throughout the years of independence as well as decisions made amid global political and economic instability, Kazinform has learnt from the president's press service - Akorda. For instance, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Prince Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein noted that the presidential address instills confidence in the future. He believes that preservation of inter-ethnic consent and stability in the society is a universal idea that can be applied in any country. President of Laos Choummaly Sayasone commended the economic policy conducted by the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev and Kazakhstan's tremendous success in the international arena. "Initiatives of President Nazarbayev are a timely response to the new global threats and will surely boost Kazakhstan's economic growth," Mr. Sayasone said. Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz stressed that "Nurly zhol" program is the new course of economic development, strengthening of Kazakhstani statehood and unity of the nation. "Content of the presidential address once again demonstrates far-sightedness of President Nazarbayev who played a key role in its establishment and integration into the world community. The program pays utmost attention to the development of SME and industrial infrastructure of the country. In this context, Turkey will step up its cooperation with Kazakhstan," Mr. Yildiz said. Member of the Greek Parliament and chairman of Kazakhstan-Greece parliamentary group Vyron Polidoras, in turn, underscored Nursultan Nazarbayev's political prudence. According to him, the Kazakh leader has already prepared the platform for country's economic breakthrough amid grave global crisis. According to member of the German Bundestag Heirich Zertik, ‘"Nurly zhol" meets modern global economic challenges and is chiefly aimed at welfare gain of all Kazakhstanis'. He also expressed confidence that given the vast reserves of the National Fund of the Republic of Kazakhstan, all goals and tasks set by President Nazarbayev are quite achievable. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Israel Faina Kirschenbaum underlined it is crucial to preserve inter-confessional accord in Kazakhstan. "Kazakhstan sets the example in terms of development of its infrastructure, educational and healthcare system," she added. Brazilian Deputy Minister of External Relations Hadil da Rocha Vianna noted that the presidential address is an important strategic document that contains specific and achievable goals and was confident that ‘Kazakhstan will soon become one of the most competitive countries in the world'. Former President of Poland Aleksander Kwaśniewski noted ‘Kazakhstan is a big player not only at the regional but also at the global level'. Nursultan Nazarbayev's farsightedness and tenacity of Kazakhstanis were lauded by ex-President of Estonia Arnold Rüütel who expressed confidence that all ambitious goals and tasks set in the strategic document will be achieved. Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Franco Frattini believes that Kazakhstan play a prominent role in Central Asia in terms of non-proliferation and promotion of multilateral dialogue. In this light, the EU should establish effective contacts with Kazakhstan. "Nursultan Nazarbayev greatly contributes to sustainable and stable development of Kazakhstan and the region in general. Development of Kazakhstan's transit potential is of paramount importance for its economy," he added.
