President voices the reason for former Karaganda region mayor’s resignation

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Former Mayor of Karaganda region Baurjan Abdishev was dismissed because of illegal activities on land issues, said President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

"This spring a group of entrepreneurs requested to stop the illegal actions on land issues. Special commission was sent to Karaganda region. The audit showed that the regional administration affiliated "TLC Karaganda" company 7 plots of land with a total area of 49 hectares", said N. Nazarbayev at a meeting with the public and businesses. "Parcels of land were given out with gross violations of the law", he stressed. President also talked about the other company - "KZ Group" which has received 11 land plots for individual housing construction but the firm sold the property without building anything. The audit materials were submitted to the financial police. Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to sort out the situation. Recall that Baurjan Abdishev was dismissed as Governor of Karaganda region in June 20, 2014. Nurmukhambet Abdibekov was appointed new Akim of the region. N.Abdibekov served as first deputy mayor of Aktobe region. As Kazinform previously reported, on August 30 President Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a working visit to Karaganda region. The Head of State held a meeting with leading athletes of the region, visited SEZ Saryarka and had a round table with the public and businesses. In the evening Nazarbayev took part in the festivities dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the city of Karaganda and the Miner's Day.
