President visits Theater of Opera and Ballet under construction in Astana
ASTANA. June 29. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev paid a visit to the construction site of the Classical Theater of Opera and Ballet in Astana and surveyed the progress of work on the threshold of the Capital's Day on Friday (June 29).
"I would like to congratulate all people of Kazakhstan on the forthcoming holiday. Traditionally the Capital's Day has become a milestone to see the results of the work done. Soon Kazakhstanis will get this beautiful modern center of culture as a gift," President Nazarbayev told a briefing after surveying the construction progress.
The new theater is located in the center of Astana. The building designed in Italian style will room 1250 visitors. The building is equipped with all necessary facilities. It has a chamber music hall, a museum, a restaurant, a canteen, a parking lot and an underground parking. It is to be commissioned in December 2012.
