President Tokayev: Kazakhstan carries out well-balanced, constructive foreign policy course based on its national interests
Addressing the solemn ceremony of presenting state awards on the occasion of the Republic Day, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev raised foreign policy issues which directly influence the internal situation in the country and citizens’ wellbeing, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.
The President noted that Kazakhstan carries out well-balanced, constructive foreign policy course based on its national interests.
According to him, year 2024 turned out to be very eventful for Kazakhstan which president in several multilateral associations at once and hosted a number of large-scale events. The President especially noted the Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the V World Nomad Games.
The Head of State highlighted that Kazakhstan makes a significant contribution to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and overcoming the global challenges.
“The goal of Kazakhstan’s diplomacy, which is based on centuries-long traditions of the Great Steppe is to make Kazakhstan’s voice weightier in the global arena. Our country came to be called a middle power abroad, but this is not a reason for self-complacency, but a stimulus to further work actively,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
The Head of State reminded that the number of conflicts is augmenting worldwide, a new race of armaments is gaining paces, and trade wars are aggravating.
"But the most dangerous thing is the militarization of consciousness, the growth of distrust and rejection of each other’s positions, the narrowing of the field for dialogue and consensus. All these are the signs of a drastically changing world order. We do our best to remain a territory of stability and harmony in such realities,” he stressed.
