President Tokayev inspects Table Tennis Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited the Table Tennis Center in Ust-Kamenogorsk as part of his working tour of East Kazakhstan region, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.

The center operates under the regional specialized children’s and youth sports school of Olympic reserve in table tennis. The center holds major tournaments, sports and mass events and training camps, as well as professional training of athletes from the club for disabled, showdown and children from ‘Umit’ orphanage.

Tokayev was informed about the region’s achievements in table tennis. Last year, the region’s team won the Kazakhstan Open Table Tennis Championships. The President was told that there is the opportunity to create a Table Tennis Academy in the region to exchange experiences and improve sports skills.

The Kazakh Head of State inspected the sports arenas and talked to children from ‘Umit’ orphanage. He instructed the region’s governor to keep under special control the state of the institution and provide the children with housing.
