President Tokayev extends condolences to Amir of Qatar
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his deepest condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani following the tragic incident in the industrial center of Ras Laffan, which left numerous people injured and missing, Qazinform News Agency reports, citing the Akorda press service.
"In this difficult time, we stand in solidarity with Qatar and express our support for the efforts aimed at searching and rescuing people," the telegram reads.
Earlier, Qatar’s Interior Ministry reported that a major explosion struck at Ras Laffan Industrial City late Sunday, injuring 54 people and leaving 18 missing. The explosion occurred at the Barzan plant during efforts to restart operations. Ras Laffan is Qatar’s primary natural gas export hub, making the incident highly significant for the country’s energy sector.
