President Tokayev confers Order of Dostyk on Hungary’s FM Péter Szijjártó

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, conferred the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship) of the second degree on Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, who is paying an official visit to Astana, Akorda reports.

Welcoming the Hungarian diplomat at the Presidential Palace in the capital of Astana, President Tokayev highlighted the high-level strategic partnership Kazakhstan and Hungary enjoy as well as the progressive political dialogue at the high level and the active interaction between the countries’ governments.

Kazakh leader Tokayev hailed the dynamic realization of the agreements signed during his state visit to Budapest last year, saying that ‘their step-be-step implementation will further deepen comprehensive partnership’. The Head of State extended his greetings and best wishes to Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Péter Szijjártó, in turn, conveyed the warm greetings from the Hungarian Premier.

The Hungarian minister informed President Tokayev that as part of his visit to Astana he will hold extensive discussions with relevant ministries and agencies on different aspects of practical realizations of the high-level agreements previously reached.

The interlocutors discussed the pressing issues of bilateral agenda, with a special focus on expansion of mutually beneficial ties in trade and economy and investment spheres as well as energy and banking sector.

Besides, an exchange of views on the ongoing international issues took place.

Following the meeting, President Tokayev conferred the Order of Dostyk (Order of Friendship) of the second degree on Péter Szijjártó in appreciation of his efforts to promote Kazakh-Hungarian relations.
