President Tokayev attends solemn concert ahead of Republic Day
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the gala concert Kasterli Otan – Kazakhstan held ahead of the Republic Day the country observes on October 25, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
Famed Kazakhstani artists and creative teams performed on the stage of the Theater of Opera and Ballet Astana Opera.
Earlier it was reported that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a number of instructions on the development and improvement of Astana.
The initiative to bring back the Day of Republic came up in 2022.
The Republic Day celebrates the adoption of the declaration on state sovereignty of the Kazakh SSR within the Soviet Union on October 25, 1990, marking the first step towards the independence. The country became independent on 16 December 1991.
