President's Address outlines task on modernization of state-legal system: I.Rogov

ALMATY. February 8. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ A task on modernization of the state-legal system is set in the President's Address to the Nation. Chairman of the Kazakh Constitutional Council Igor Rogov said it Monday at workshop titled "Criminal Policy in Kazakhstan: state and main directions of its liberalization" in Almaty.

According to the Chairman, the task on modernization of all Kazakhstani society, in particular, the state-legal system is outlined in the President's Address. "Special attention will be paid to modernization of the law-enforcement activity. This must be a new system, modernization must cover all spheres of the law-enforcement activity, and it must be effective. The Head of the State paid attention to the necessity of observance of the principle of saving of criminal repression and decriminalization of crimes posing no hazard to the society", I.Rogov said.

The workshop was organized by the Prosecutor-General's Office, Supreme Court of Kazakhstan and "Charter for Human Rights" Public Fund.
