President of Kazakhstan receives the National Bank Chairman
ASTANA. November 21. KAZINFORM - The Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has received the Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Kelimbetov, the press service of the President says. Mr.Kelimbetov has reported on the activities of the National Bank, as well as the current situation and prospects of further development of the banking sector.
The Head of State noted the need for analysis of systemic risk due to the current situation in the global financial markets, the stability of the main macroeconomic indicators and the situation on the currency market.
Chairman of the National Bank informed that the key parameters of the monetary policy are stored in the predicted range. He stressed that in the event of risks at a financial market or at its individual segments, the National Bank intends to flexibly adjust the instruments used.
Also during the meeting Kairat Kelimbetov reported that up to October 2013 the annual inflation has been at 4.9 %. Since the beginning of the year the international reserves of the country, including the National Fund assets, have increased by 7.3% to USD92.4 billion.
In addition, the chairman of the National Bank spoke about the implementation of the instructions of the President on transfer of pension assets to the Unified Retirement Savings Fund. It was noted that this work would be completed before April 1, 2014.
Following the meeting, the Head of State gave instructions to ensure the stability of the financial system and maintain the pace of economic development.
