President of European Commission to arrive in Kazakhstan
ASTANA. May 27. KAINFORM "President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan on June 1-3 on invitation of the Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev," official spokesperson of the Central Communications Service under the Kazakh President Altai Abibullayev said at the briefing.
"A wide range of key issues of the Kazakh-European cooperation, in the context of the new agreement on expanded partnership and cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU, will be considered at the meeting with the Country's leadership," Abibullayev added.
The EU is the main partner of Kazakhstan in terms of trade and economic cooperation. The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the EU amounted to USD 54 billion in 2012 . Between 1993 and 2012 the volume of attracted investments from the EU to the economy of Kazakhstan amounted to more than USD 82 billion.
