President Nazarbayev urges Government to speed up construction of Balkhash power station
ASTANA. October 11. KAZINFORM On Friday, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev urged the enlarged session of the Government in the Akorda presidential residence to speed up the work on construction of the Balkhash thermoelectric power station.
"We've spent several years just talking about the construction of the Balkhash thermoelectric power station. But we still do not know how to supply it with 300 cars of coal per day, if there is only one (!) railway leading to the location. How will thousands of people work there? Where will they live? No provisions have been made in the republican budget for these purposes," the Kazakh President stressed.
"The construction of this large project, this station should be strictly controlled by the Government of the country," Nursultan Nazarbayev added.
"Enough talking, let's get down to business. The station will be built and will be the control point between the northern and southern Kazakhstan," the President concluded.
