President Nazarbayev to meet British Prime Minister Cameron in Atyrau
ATYRAU. June 29. KAZINFORM Prime Minister of Great Britain David Cameron is expected to visit Kazakhstan on June 30
Cameron is the first British Prime Minister to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region, Kazinform has learnt from the regional administration's press service.
It is believed that Atyrau will be the first city in Kazakhstan Cameron is going to visit. The British Prime Minister will have a meeting with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev who is set to arrive in Atyrau tomorrow.
Afterwards, David Cameron and Nursultan Nazarbayev plan to participate in a business forum that will bring together Kazakh and British oil and gas companies working in the region or displaying keen interest in Kazakhstan.
The official part of Cameron's visit will continue in the Kazakh capital, Astana. During the trip a series of business deals covering energy and transport spheres between Kazakhstan and Great Britain are to be signed.
Kazakhstan and Great Britain established diplomatic ties on January 19, 1992. The Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland opened its doors in Kazakhstan in October 1992.
