President Nazarbayev suggests raising retirement age for women since 2018

ASTANA. June 7. KAZINFORM President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has charged the Parliament to amend the recently adopted Law "On pension provision in the Republic of Kazakhstan" in terms of raising the retirement age.
In his recent statement as regards the modernization of domestic pension system, the Kazakh President noted 'in general, he is fully supportive of the law, however, it needs to be amended in terms of raising the retirement age for women.'
The Head of State suggested starting that process as of 1 January 2018, instead of 1 January 2014 prescribed by the law.
