President Nazarbayev offers condolences to Ermek Serkebayev's family
ASTANA. November 16. KAZINFORM - President Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent a telegram of condolences to the family and friends of the People's Artist of the USSR and the Kazakh SSR Ermek Serkebayev in connection with his death, the press service of the President says.
The letter states that having become known in his youth because of his unique voice Ermek Serkebayev fruitfully worked all his life in the main art center of the country - the Kazakh State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Abai.
"His soul was as beautiful as his voice, Kazakh folk songs and arias from the world's major operatic works in his performance always evoked a sense of light from the audience", the telegram reads.
The Head of State stressed that Ermek Serkebaev was awarded a happy opportunity to speak on stages around the world, winning the love of an international audience. Having taught at the conservatory, he trained a lot of students that have received wide recognition. He was elected a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, as well as the Kazakh SSR. He was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor, and the Order "Otan" (Homeland).
Kazakhstan's President expressed confidence that the contribution of Ermek Serkebayev would forever stay in the history of the country song art, and his name would be in the hearts of our people.
