President Nazarbayev honored with high award in Turkmenistan
ASHGABAT. KAZINFORM - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been honored with the title of the Honorary Elder of the nation while on his official visit to the country.
The awarding ceremony took place Tuesday after joint conference of President Nazarbayev and his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov in Ashgabat. After receiving the lapel pin of the Honorary Elder of the nation, Nursultan Nazarbayev thanked his counterpart for warm reception and the honorary award. "I believe this shows profound respect to fraternal people of Kazakhstan," President Nazarbayev said of the award. The Kazakh leader also expressed confidence that good neighbor relations between the two countries will develop in the future. President Berdymukhammedov, in turn, expressed gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for a tremendous contribution to the development of fruitful bilateral relations and friendship between the people of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
