President Nazarbayev holds session on provision of EXPO-2017 event security
ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has held a session of the Security Council, the Akorda's press service reports.
Implementation of the National Security Strategy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and provision of security during the preparations and holding of the EXPO-2017 event in Astana were discussed at the session.
The President paid utmost attention to the main principles of ensuring security at the EXPO-2017 event.
"First of all, it is crucial to attract to Kazakhstan the world's best practices in the sphere of public security. Secondly, to provide comfortable conditions for all participants and guests of the exhibition. Thirdly, to introduce uniform security regulations and standards," N. Nazarbayev said.
In this connection, the Head of State instructed to create an inter-ministerial office under the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensure interaction between government agencies in order to provide security of the upcoming high-profile event.
Following results of the session, President Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions to the government bodies concerned. The Secretariat of the National Security Council is to monitor the implementation of these instructions.
