President Nazarbayev holds meeting with US Secretary of Energy Steven Chu

As the President's press service notes, they talked about deepening bilateral cooperation in the energy sphere, including in the field of nuclear energy, renewable energy resources. The issues of implementation of decisions of the Kazakh-US Joint Commission for Energy Partnership were discussed as well.

The Head of the State spoke for expansion of the American companies' participation in implementation of projects in Kazakhstan within the framework of the State Program of Forced Industrial and Innovative Development, in particular, on introduction of advanced energy-saving technologies and use of alternative energy resources.

Today there will be held an official opening of the Global Nuclear Security Summit.
