President Nazarbayev congratulates Kazakhstani children on New Year

The event brought together children from orphanages, low-income and large families who all got presents from President Nazarbayev: books, tablets, and toys. Nursultan Nazarbayev also congratulated all participants of the party on the upcoming New Year in a video message. "Dear children! New Year brings happiness, warmth and holiday spirit to our homes. We bid farewell the outgoing year. It has been very special for all of us. I know you all worked hard to get to this party, since we extend invitations to only the best schoolchildren and the most talented youngsters. I wish you and all Kazakhstani children good health in the forthcoming new year, be smart and curious," the message said. The Head of State also added that the country exerts every effort to create the best conditions for education, development and recreation for children. Nursultan Nazarbayev also expressed confidence that all kids in Kazakhstan will grow up to become well-rounded citizens and true patriots of their motherland - the Republic of Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan's Minister of Education and Science Aslan Sarinzhipov, deputy mayor of Astana city Yermek Amanshayev and head of the Astana education department Elmira Sukhanberdiyeva attended the event. Earlier it was reported that President Nursultan Nazarbayev lit the main New Year's Tree on December 1 at a square next to the Astana Opera and Ballet Theater.
