President, NATO Special Representative to discuss scientific coop
ASTANA. May 12. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia. James Appathurai will meet to discuss scientific cooperation.
Mr. J. Appathurai said it following his meeting with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantin Zhigalov in Astana today.
"Undoubtedly, we will discuss cooperation in science and the issues concerning the support NATO can provide to Kazakhstan in defense education. We will also discuss how the Alliance can support development of Kazbat", J. Appathurai clarified
"Kazakhstan played an important role as the OSCE presiding country and today it has successfully started chairing the Organization of the Islamic Conference. This role of 'bridge' can really assist in stabilization of the international situation", J. Appathurai added.
