President met with reps of foreign partners of Nazarbayev University, International Advisory Board and Directors Board
ASTANA. June 28. KAZINFORM Today Head of the State Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with the representatives of the foreign partner universities of the Nazarbayev University, its International Advisory Board and the Board of Directors.
Key issues connected with organization of work of the international-class research university were discussed at the meeting.
Taking the floor, the President thanked the representatives for their support of this important project on opening the Nazarbayev University in Astana.
"Even in most difficult period Kazakhstan sent its youth for study at the best foreign universities. To date 25-30 young Kazakhstanis are obtaining education at the best higher educational institutions of the world", N. Nazarbayev stressed.
In comparison with 2009 state expenditures for education in 2010 grew by 30%. Special attention is given to development of up-to-date information technologies of education. Nearly half of all Kazakhstani educational institutions have been provided with interactive studies and equipment.
Kazakhstani educational system is open for international cooperation. More than 150 Kazakh educational scientific facilities have direct contacts with foreign partners. 84 international agreements in education are being implemented now.
"I would like to express gratitude to you for your response, for you readiness to work with us and help our youth become competitive people", the Head of the State said.
