President had to undertake historic responsibility for fate of independent Kazakhstan - K.Tokayev
ASTANA. January 6. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ President Nursultan Nazarbayev had to take the epoch-making burden himself for the fate of independent Kazakhstan. Senate Chairman Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told while discussing the deputies' initiative to hold a national referendum on introduction of amendments to the Constitution which will allow extending the First Kazakh President's powers at the national referendum.
"We associate all the achievements of modern Kazakhstan with the name of Yelbasy (Leader of the Nation). Our country has become a successful state with the developed market economy and high authority in the international community over the short term by historical standards", K.Tokayev said.
According to him, the development model called later as "Kazakhstan's way" would not 'appear' and would not gain success without the directing role of President N. Nazarbayev
